SKF TKSA 41 advanced laser shaft alignment system for horizontal rotating machinery. Provides guided alignment workflow with multiple measurement modes, live correction values, and PDF report export. IP54-rated system with USB update support.
The SKF TKSA 41 is an advanced laser shaft alignment system used to align coupled horizontal rotating machines. It supports alignment work on assets such as motor-to-pump, motor-to-gearbox, and motor-to-fan trains where alignment targets are defined by shaft centerlines and coupling geometry.
The system guides a user through measurement, calculation, and correction steps and presents alignment results as both condition values and actionable correction values. During adjustment, it provides live correction guidance for vertical and horizontal moves so the user can track changes while repositioning machine feet. The workflow is intended for field alignment tasks where repeatable measurement capture and clear correction readouts matter more than manual calculation.
The TKSA 41 uses laser-based measurement with CCD sensing to capture relative shaft positions and calculate alignment condition and required corrections. SKF specifies a shaft diameter range of 20 to 150 mm (0.8 to 5.9 in) and a system measuring distance range of 0.07 to 4 m (0.23 to 13.1 ft), which defines the typical envelope for machine sizes and coupling spans the system is intended to cover. The system is rated IP54 and specified for an operating temperature range of 0 to 45 °C (32 to 113 °F), matching common indoor and plant-floor conditions where contamination and splash exposure can occur.
For data transfer and operation, the system supports Bluetooth 4.0 LE wireless communication and USB wired connection. After an alignment is completed, the system generates alignment documentation and supports PDF report export. SKF also specifies USB-based software and application updates, supporting standardized upkeep without requiring a permanent network connection at the job site.
