The Pomona 5953A is an adjustable tip test probe set designed for use with digital multimeters. It includes one red and one black probe, each featuring a retractable stainless steel needle tip and silicone-insulated test leads for electrical measurement applications.

Adjustable Probe Design

  • Needle point tip adjustable from 0 to 3 inches (0 to 76 mm)
  • Fully insulated probe body to within 1/8 inch of the tip
  • Stainless steel needle tip for piercing varnish and thin insulation
  • Tip can be re-pointed if required

Electrical Interface and Construction

Each probe is equipped with a shrouded banana plug designed to fit most digital multimeter input jacks. The banana plug is molded directly to the lead wire to provide robust pull strength and long insertion life.
