Manual System Control for Fire Alarm Functions

The Siemens SM-30 580-821670 is a switch module designed for fire alarm and control system operation. It provides two manually operated switches to perform a wide variety of system control functions through SPDT contacts. Common use includes panel-mounted control workflows where manual switching and status indication are required.

Manual Switching with SPDT Contact Reversal

- Each switch provides a single pole double throw contact through screw terminals during normal system operation.
- Moving a switch to the operated position reverses the contact condition for manual control action.
- Yellow LED indicators show switch status and illuminate when a switch is in the operated position.
- Internal circuitry supports trouble indication when a switch remains in an abnormal position, when that function is used.

Control Functions and Electrical Interface

- Two manually operated switches are provided on one SM-30 module.
- Switch contact rating is 0.5 amp at 30 VDC or 120 VAC.
- Wiring supports 20 AWG minimum and 14 AWG maximum conductor size.
- Maximum operating power is 24V at 10mA.

Fire Alarm and System Control Applications

- Audible signal silence, individual audible circuit silence, and alarm drill control.
- Manual activation of relays, audible signals, fan relay override, and timer, coder, or municipal tie bypass.
