Fluke Networks DSX-CHA003 DSX Series Coaxial Adapter

The Fluke Networks DSX-CHA003 DSX Series Coaxial Adapter is used with the DSX-5000 CableAnalyzer to test installed coaxial cabling. It enables characterization of transmission performance to verify compliance with defined insertion loss requirements across supported applications.

The adapter supports multiple coaxial impedance types and industry standards relevant to broadband video, telecommunications, and legacy Ethernet environments.

Coaxial Cable Test Support

• Supports 50 ohm, 75 ohm, and 93 ohm coaxial cable
• Measures insertion loss from 5 MHz to 1002 MHz
• Supports Series 6 (RG6) and Series 11 (RG11) cabling
• Supports DS-3 test limits for Type 734, Type 735, and RG6 cable

Standards-Based Testing

ANSI/TIA-568-C.4 defines requirements for 75 ohm broadband coaxial cabling used in CATV and related star topology installations. IEEE Std 802.3-2012 defines requirements for 50 ohm coaxial cabling supporting 10BASE2 and 10BASE5 Ethernet. The DSX-5000 platform provides test limits aligned to these requirements when used with the DSX-CHA003 adapter.
