Fisher TW9000 Multi-Frequency Underground Utility Locator System

The Fisher TW9000 is a multi-frequency underground utility locating system designed to trace buried conductive utilities using electromagnetic detection methods. The system consists of a digital transmitter and receiver engineered for controlled active tracing and passive power detection applications.

The transmitter energizes target utilities using selectable frequencies and connection methods, while the receiver detects magnetic fields generated by energized lines. The system supports tracing pipes, cables, and conduit in varied soil and site conditions.

Multi-Frequency Tracing and Detection Modes

• User-selectable transmit frequencies: 512Hz, 8.125kHz, 33.025kHz, 82.175kHz
• Direct Connection, Coupling Clamp, and Inductive transmitter modes
• Receiver modes: Peak & Null, Wide Peak, Narrow Peak, Null, Sonde, Passive Power
• Passive Power detection for 50Hz or 60Hz energized utilities and harmonics
• Selectable transmitter voltage limits: 30V, 60V, or 90VRMS

System Architecture and Output Control

The transmitter provides adjustable output power up to 9.5W depending on frequency, with output monitoring of voltage, resistance, current, and power in Direct Connection mode. The receiver measures signal strength, gain, depth, and current, with maximum depth capability up to 32 feet (10 meters) in all modes. Rechargeable lithium-ion battery systems power both transmitter and receiver.
