Contrex M-Drive 4E Digital DC Motor Drive Controller

The Contrex M-Drive 4E is an integrated digital DC drive and motion controller designed for precise closed-loop speed regulation of permanent magnet DC motors up to 2 horsepower. The unit combines a digital controller with an SCR-based DC drive in a compact panel-mounted enclosure.

Control and Interface Capabilities

  • Digital closed-loop speed regulation with zero cumulative error
  • Built-in LCD display with sealed membrane keypad for programming and monitoring
  • RS485-compatible serial communication interface
  • Analog input and output capability via installed analog card and I/O board

Drive Architecture

The M-Drive 4E integrates a digital control loop with an SCR DC power stage, supporting selectable DC output voltage and adjustable current limiting. Control parameters such as PID gains and acceleration or deceleration ramps can be configured through the onboard interface.
