Buckleys WRP01 Wet Roof Pro’ is a roof leak detector for locating faults in wet flat roofing membranes using voltage gradient measurement across non-conductive surfaces over conductive substrates.
Flat roof membranes can fail in small areas that are difficult to locate by visual inspection alone. This method applies a pulsed electrical field across a wet roof surface and follows the resulting voltage gradient to the point where moisture is penetrating the membrane. The Buckleys Wet Roof Pro’ is a roof leak detector system built for that task.
The system uses a generator unit, a detector unit, perimeter trace wire, and survey probes. The generator applies a stabilised low-frequency pulse to the test area, while the detector measures voltage differential at the roof surface and guides the operator toward the leak origin.
The Buckleys Wet Roof Pro’ is prepared by laying trace wire around the test area, connecting the generator to the trace wire and a suitable building earth point, and surveying the wet membrane with two poles connected to the detector. The generator provides selectable pulse settings, and the detector provides directional response based on the measured potential difference between the two survey points. The operator follows direction change until the source point is isolated.
