The AEMC 6555 is a 15kV digital megohmmeter for insulation testing on motors, cables, and electrical apparatus. It supports fixed/variable voltage tests, step and ramp profiles, automatic DAR/PI/DD ratios, on-screen graphs, and USB/DataView reporting with storage for up to 80,000 points.
Built for high-voltage insulation resistance testing, the AEMC 6555 combines programmable test modes, on-instrument graphing, and robust data management for preventive maintenance and acceptance testing of electrical equipment. It operates from rechargeable batteries or AC power during testing and is housed in an IP54-rated enclosure when closed.
Test voltages up to 15,000 VDC with fixed and variable test options
Fixed test voltages: 500, 1000, 2500, 5000, 10,000, and 15,000 V
Variable voltage range: 40 V to 15 kV with user-programmable voltage schemes
Insulation resistance measurement ranges by test voltage (examples):
500 V: 10 kΩ to 2000 GΩ (2 TΩ)
10,000 V: 10 kΩ to 25,000 GΩ (25 TΩ)
15,000 V: 10 kΩ to 29,000 GΩ (29 TΩ)
Step mode: up to 10 steps (voltage + duration configurable)
Ramp mode: programmable start voltage, end voltage, and duration; ramp configuration supports up to 15,000 V
